My Background

I’m an intuitive support companion who listens deeply and taps into the wisdom of my clients. My experiences as a mother, middle school teacher, and doula have shaped my ability to meet challenges with patience and gentle understanding. I am an expert in coaching and holding space. You are an expert in your body, beliefs and values. I do this work to help protect the hearts and minds of birthing people, especially those who are experiencing loss, anxiety, and uncertainty during their childbearing years.

Birth Coaching

By asking questions, and listening closely, I provide coaching that inspires you to get in touch with your individual needs and convictions for birth. Our sessions are built around clarifying your desires and creating a plan to achieve your goals.

When I’m holding space for a client’s loss, my job is to listen and to be present to their story, while noticing their emotions, and guiding them to arrive at their own meaning.

I’m a Pregnancy Coach.

My years of experience supporting birth as a doula, teaching classes to hundreds of expectant parents, and studying grief and loss have taught me two very important lessons.

First, coaching better frames how I work with clients.

In the coaching model, you’re the expert of your body, beliefs and desires. I’m the expert in childbirth preparation.

Our sessions together guide you, and a partner if relevant, to a place of deeper understanding and clarity. I won’t physically attend your birth; instead, I provide a series of personalized coaching sessions that will prepare you to birth with greater confidence.

And second, we’re all grieving losses, now more than ever.

The grief that we experience ought to be held, especially in our perinatal years. If you’ve experienced pregnancy loss, have struggled with infertility, or are feeling anxious or uncertain while trying to conceive, my approach holds compassionate space for that part of your journey.

I’ve integrated these two profound lessons into my practice.

I’m a Pregnancy Coach who specializes in holding space for loss, sometimes that’s pregnancy loss, and the grief surrounding infertility. I use my doula, childbirth education, and grief training to help you confidently prepare for the day that you welcome your baby into the world.

My training in Holding Space for Pregnancy Loss and companioning those who are grieving other losses is with Amy Wright Glenn of The Institute for the Study of Birth Breath and Death.

Alongside the institute, I work within a specific scope of practice to offer up compassionate presence that is distinctly different from, and not intending to replace, mental health counseling.

Let me show you how to integrate compassionate coaching into your pregnancy journey.
